First Miss Creole Canada Pageant 2009

The first ever Miss Creole pageant took place in Canada in October.

The pageant was created by Caribbean Star Power Entertainment and TalentBank Canada in efforts to raise awareness about Canada’s rich and growing French Creole Caribbean communities during the internationally recognized Creole Heritage Month of October.

The star studed event was attend by more than 300 people who witnessed the crowning of the very first Miss Creole Canada.

There were 9 contestants. Of those 9, two were prepresenting Dominica.
They placed 1st runner up – Kanika Ambrose – Dominica (left) and 3rd runner up Roxann Thomas – Haiti (right)

This year’s winner was Jamie Lynell Ellis of St. Lucia.

She will represent the Creole communities across Canada this year.

The organizers look forward to the 2nd annual pageant scheduled for Saturday October 2, 2010.
